STUDENTS FROM LYCEE GEORGES DUBY ATTEND PARIS MODEL UNITED NATIONS

  • english

Between the 5th and 7th of December, ten students, all members of the school’s Debate Club, participated in PAMUN 2008, accompanied by Mme El Assaad and Mr Lewis. Eight hundred delegates from all over Europe were attracted to the event which was organised by the American School of Paris.
The weekend conference was a great success; much fun was had and many skills were on display. Our students enjoyed debating resolutions, making amendments, speaking for them and others, contesting others and putting forward points of information.
Lycée Georges Duby was represented on the following committees: Economic and Social (Tim Pasqualini and David Collignon); Disarmament (Ossian Corish, Sara El Assaad and Laura Verbeke); Political (Youkang Jun and Tallulah Klene) and Environment (Elise Blanchard and Anciane Vitoux). Simon Nizard represented us on the Security Council.
Many thanks to all the hard work put in, in advance of the trip, by Mme Griggs, Mme El Assaad and by Mme Blake of Apelevia. Thanks also are due to the students who took full advantage of the opportunity to engage in such a special occasion and high quality forum.
